The Ultimate Gift from a Mother-In-Law

In this case I am referring to a gift from my mother to my son but it impacts my wife. The gift is a talking toy vacuum. Seems innocuous enough. I am sure my mother had no idea that it was a talking vacuum that would fling criticisms of our hygiene as my son walked around with it. In between the regular things you would hear from a talking kid toy, here are some of the things it says:

  • Is that a rabbit? No, its just a dust bunny.
  • Lets clean up this mess.
  • This place is a pig sty.
  • Did a tornado come through here?

My son has been playing with this every available minute since he got it yesterday. Well, at least he is getting the enjoyment out of it.

Joint News Release from the IAEA, SFIP, and EWAD

Run from radioactive skulls
This news release just in from the IAEA, SFIP and the EWAD (Everybody Wants to be an Art Director). I know how this played out. Stan the stick figure sketcher’s hand was forced by an ignorant manager. Initially Stan started with an illustration of the radiation symbol and skull and crossbones. However Stan’s manager did not feel that imminent death (implied by the skull and crossbones) was sufficient to get people to leave. So Stan was asked to add the universal symbol for run away.

Stratellite Test Succeeds, New Juvenile Insult Created

Sanswire Blimp
An event that both technophiles and juveniles will be celebrating for years to come. A new type of high altitude derigible, capable of acting in place of a satellite relay at a fraction of the cost was successfully tested over the Mojave desert. Simultaneously a new type of high insult derogitory, capable of putting down the portly was coined.

Stick Figures In Peril

Danger Rotating Drivetrain
Cows Crossing

I have grown to love ‘s explore pages. Just simply incredible photos by so many different talented people out there. It is another great example of what the internet was made to do.

I have always thoroughly enjoyed caution drawings (aka Stick Figures in Peril). My father owns a commercial print shop and the presses have these drawings all over them. So from a young age I have gotten giggles from the “don’t slice yourself in half” illustrations. You can imagine my glee when the Flickr Explore page led me to this pool of photos

The Wip Cream Incident

A little bit of levity tonight. My s love whipped cream. I am not sure how this started. But, I am pretty sure that my first with Heather, Kasha, once accidentally got some and developped a pavlovian response to the sound of a can. Tzimmes, presumably picked up this practice, like many others, from his sister. I like to look at this photo now when ever I need a pickup.

Rentz Ridez

I love my toaster bumper sticker

Today we are going to pick up a olive drab (officially ‘camoflage’) Scion xB for my father’s trasportation, already nicknamed ‘The Tank”. It will replace the IMS mobility modified Dodge Caravan they bought for the same purpose a half year ago. The Scion xB is uniquely qualified for the task of transporting handicapped folks because it is a car shaped like a van and everything is designed by Toyota to be modified.

xB widebody DJ edition

It is also a ROFL moment because my parents will now both have *ridez*. My mother’s license plate starts with ‘RZA’ which if you ever met her would be instant belly ache laugh. Now with my fathers xB my parents have fresh ridez.

Bathroom Cowbell

I can’t tell you how bizzare it is to have smooth jazz in the bathroom at work. In any case I got to hear Barry White’s “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love” today and I noticed that the percussion is entirely cowbell. Here is a tracking site, I will be paying more attention now:
