I figured it out this morning why I have been so addicted to Crack Attack. You see I have a minor case of OCD and the gameplay of Crack Attack feeds right into that. Most of the time my OCD is channelled through my craft. This results in beautifully composed, optimised, self-documenting code which only ever asymptotically approaches completion.

However, I have recently had a second lapse into Crack Attack which is a game that is won by swapping blocks to form 3 or more in a row or column or both. Points are multiplied by cascading or simultaneous combos (one score results in an other). It is a game perfectly designed to exploit the weaknesses of OCD sufferers such as myself.

Today I am kicking the addiction! This game has occupied way too much of my limited time and I don’t want it around any more. Earlier I posted just how high of a score I have and that should be satisfaction enough. You may have noticed my post rate suffering… ok, non existent and I have even been playing at inapproriate times (I love you dear, sorry).

Purge complete!
