Better experience for the majorty of users basically.

For those on slower connections uploading larger files, it also presents a progress bar, which is something that is needed to show users that theres an upload in progress.

Its a shame that so many web server setups have security in place to prevent such uploads, and that the flash plugin has to be so tempramental on different OS's..</description>

Other than that, how are you liking 2.5?  You really need to install Ozh's &lt;a href="http://planetozh.com/blog/my-projects/wordpress-admin-menu-drop-down-css/" rel="nofollow"&gt;Admin Menu Drop Down CSS&lt;/a&gt;.  It makes interacting with the admin a MUCH nicer experience.</description>
