Technorati Integration Attempts
Posted by A R Baboon in Computer Science, Datapoint, Uncategorized on December 31, 2005
I have now added some automated Technorati integration to this WordPress
blog which will hopefully make it more integrated with a tag based internet. I addded the WordPress TechnoTag which allows you to add <ttag>’s around a term that relates to the subject of the post or comment. The TechnoTag plugin has a little bit of breakage though. It will make subsequent tags link to the first tag name in a post. There is a fix listed here which you can use to patch it up. Do take care to convert the fancy quotes to real ones so PHP doesn’t s|it the bed on you.
I have also made further attempts to register this blog and I am presently trying to contect their support to figure out why it no worky. To answer Doug’s question, Technorati allows a user to create a RSS feed for arbitrary searches. Therefor you could have notification of someone linking to your site or to a peticular tag. If Doug had known this he could have been notified of this post in his liferea cha cha cha
Nothing to see here. Move along.

Amazon Pre-pre-pre-order
Posted by A R Baboon in General on December 27, 2005
Looking at my amazon recomendations I came across this pre-order recomendation for Jan 2010. How the heck would I know what I want to buy 4 years from now? Are the going to float the charge for that long? Will I even have the same credit cards? Will Amazon.com be overrun by a meniacal machine intelligence? Me thinks this is a mistake.

Rentz Ridez

Today we are going to pick up a olive drab (officially ‘camoflage’) Scion xB for my father’s trasportation, already nicknamed ‘The Tank”. It will replace the IMS mobility modified Dodge Caravan they bought for the same purpose a half year ago. The Scion xB is uniquely qualified for the task of transporting handicapped folks because it is a car shaped like a van and everything is designed by Toyota to be modified.

It is also a ROFL moment because my parents will now both have *ridez*. My mother’s license plate starts with ‘RZA’ which if you ever met her would be instant belly ache laugh. Now with my fathers xB my parents have fresh ridez.
