Allah or Emacs, Lesson in Tolerance

There are many people in this world of ours, some of whom are fed more crap by their news/social media than others. Be thankful for the simple truths in your life for they may be all you have. Just look at this thread.

(From (about Statements “Middle East”) “Strange Place”)

I am not a very big fan of Lisp. I believe that this really useful tool called the milti-stage compiler was invented that obsoleted Lisp. All that aside, while looking for a non-proprietary solution to the latest boondoggle of my coworkers, I found the following FAQ entry on orientation to Israel:

Why is CLISP using menorah as the logo?

BTW I have programmed plenty in Lisp, so don’t think I am knocking it without having a full understanding of the topic.

My latest additions

White Stripes
Elephant *****
Very Cool pic.
Lots-o-fun to drive to. Guitar & drums both kick. You can definitely hear the quality of the singing & instrumentals has progressed from the White Blood Cells album.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Fever To Tell *****
Very cool pic.
Fun, loud, sexual with friggin\’ awesome drums. It\’s like 80′s music, except a bit more explicit ;-) which I like.

White Stripes
White Blood Cells ***
I’m torn.
I love “Fell In Love With A Girl” & “Death Letter,” but the CD is otherwise ok. I like the live versions recorded at Maida Vale in 2001 better. The songs on the CD rock on the live version.

Franz Ferdinand
Franz Ferdinand ****
Cool Pic.
I definitely have some fav’s on this album as well. Another 80′s flash back album with a retro 007 flare. My only prob is that it gets repetitive. We likes the 80′s flash backs.

The Darkness
Permission to Land ****
Cool Pic.
Awesome instrumentals. A great “pick-me-up” album. Generally fun, but be prepared for some funny looks if you’re blasting it with the car windows down. 80′s glam rock.

Jet
Get Born *****
Very cool pic.
Like the vocals, instrumentals …. just a cool album in general. A good variety of songs. Gotta love the Aussies.

Bourne Supremacy

Usually I’m a bit weary when I hear the word “sequel.” But this summer’s sequels have challenged this assumption. The sequels I am speaking of are Spiderman 2 and the movie I recently had the pleasure of viewing, Bourne Supremacy.

I like this one better than the first (2002 version). If you like action movies, my bet is that you’ll like Bourne Supremacy. I give it **** -

I have not yet seen Spiderman 2, but I may make an exception to my rule, because I really want to see it.
Here’s the rule: I will not go to a movie theater that allows small children into rated R movies.
Commence rant:
I am tired of hearing crying babies at 10pm at night when I am trying to watch a movie in a public theater. Have these people heard of BABY SITTERS! It’s this revolutionary concept where someone watches your kid while you go to the movies, so that you don’t disturb the rest of the audience. Imagine that! What will the come up with next?

My favorite rebuttal to Bush’s claim that the Democratic party is weak on the issue of “terror.”

Wicked Witch of the Condo

We’ve been having “issues” with our downstairs neighbor since a couple of months after we moved, in a little over 2 years ago. In the past she has banged on her ceiling with a broom stick when we had company over, mind you, we were all just sitting and talking. By th way, she does have my phone number. On another occasion she has blasted opera, to the point my floors vibrated, yet another time we had company over… we had too leave. Rang my doorbell because the paint roller “banging” against the wall was making too much noise. When my dog had a broken leg after we we accosted by 4 labradors, she had the nerve to tell me to play with my dog outside. Apparently her cast “constantly banging” on the floor was intolerable. When we and several other neighbor asked her to remove he wind chimes, which are against condo regulations to have, she blatantly refused. I’ve even tolerated her “TPT” little naked boy lawn ornaments and globes, even thought it has reduced the value of my home , according to the mortgage appraiser that stopped by last month. Not to mention the tacky lawn ornaments are also against condo rules. As well as her cutting off the tops of some of my flowers >:-(

I have tried my hardest to be polite, but she has gone too far this time! Yesterday she approached my husband when he was walking our two dogs and told him that she was going to do everything in her power to make us have to get rid of one of our dogs. She is lucky it was my very congested husband she ran into and not me. Our female is just over a year old and 13 pounds and the male is twelve weeks and seven pounds… huge and furious lap dogs. I mean, give me a break. There are plenty of people in the condos with really large breed dogs, as well as multiple dogs that piss all over the place. Sure the bark when the doorbell rings, or when we come home, but isn’t that what all dogs do? I mean you don’t have to be a canine behavioral specialist to figure that out.

I should also mention that the people who we bought the house from racked up $20,000 worth of condo fines from HER! No joke. They had to sell. Yeah sure, some of the violations they received were completely valid, but I’m sure some of them were just her being malicious. Our “lovely” neighbor had friends on the board at that time. But now, so do we. And most of the board as she knew it resigned, because a nice portion of our condo fees were unaccounted for and there were no services being rendered for our $150 a month!

Both of my dogs are well trained. I know what you are thinking, and yes, including the puppy. We started training him the day we got him. Besides the fact he sleeps 80% of the day, because that is what puppies do. They do not have free roam of my home. He is penned in the kitchen, we’ve gated off the top of the stairs so she can’t go down to the front door area and all doors are shut. We also have a friend who comes over and checks on them and walks them a few times a day. Not to mention the are sweet and cute as anything! My little Ewoks! Everyone, besides said crotchety old woman, loves them. People stop us every time we walk them to say hello and get puppy kisses. Including the new condo association president.

I can only imagine what would go down when we have kids. She might propose to draw and quarter them for crying! Sorry, I just needed to let off some steam. I don’t think I have to worry. We’ll take it as it comes. Besides, Hell will freeze over before I give up one of my furry babies. As for her malicious actions…… KARMA Baby! What goes around comes around!

Rubinium addition

Rubinium
We have a new addition to our family as of July 3rd. His name is Tzimmas. We’ve nick-named him Tzimmy. He is 11 weeks old and a sweetheart. He belonged to another family for a total of 3 days. It seems as though the previous owners were not ready for a border terrior puppy. So the breeder took him back from the family. We also think they abused him because he was a bit hand shy. I’m not going to go into full detail, but he was 8 weeks old when they adopted him and I can not begin to understand how someone could ever think to harm such a sweet and tiny creature. It makes me so angry! Anyway, he is in a loving family now. He and Kasha get along so well. The have their moments, as all siblings do. Most of the time they are very loving towards each other. We couldn’t ask for 2 sweeter dogs than Kasha and Tzimmy. They are absolute loves.
